Photos: Three Sisters Dress Rehearsal

The UI Department of Theatre Arts is putting on a new version of the Anton Chekhov play “Three Sisters” written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Lila Rachel Becker. The dress rehearsal was held on Wednesday, March 4th, twenty-four hours before its opening. The play follows three sisters in 1900s Russia as they cope with various struggles of love, status and financial stability in the days before the Bolshevik Revolution.
The cast performs the dinner party scene during the Three Sisters dress rehearsal in the Theater Building on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Three Sisters was originally written by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. A new version written by Sarah Puhl and directed by Lila Rachel Becker will premiere Thursday night, March 5th.
