North Liberty man accused of operating under the influence, serious injury by vehicle

A man has been accused of operating while under the influence.

Joshua Allen Lenz, 37, North Liberty, was charged on Aug. 22 with operating a golf cart while under the influence, resulting in a serious personal injury by a vehicle.

According to the arrest affidavit, Lenz was crossing over Curtis Bridge Road in North Liberty in a golf cart, and admitted to drinking and driving while operating the gold cart.

While talking to Lenz, the arresting officer said in the affidavit that he had slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes, and scored high on the horizontal nystagmus test and had a data master result of .172.

Operating while under the influence is a serious misdemeanor, and serious injury by a vehicle is a Class-D felony.
