Coralville man allegedly found with 28 grams of pot, various pills

Authorities have accused a local man of various drug and driving offenses.

John Greb, 18, was charged Feb. 5 with a controlled-substance violation, OWI, four counts of first-offense possession of a controlled substance, and driving while barred.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers pulled Greb over for a minor traffic offense. Officers noted that the vehicle smelled of marijuana and that Greb had a small pile of marijuana on his lap.

A drug-recognition expert conducted an examination of Greb and determined that he was unfit to drive because he was under the influence. Officers also reportedly found 16 hyrdomorphine hydrochloride pills, 1 amphetamine pill, 1 alprazolam pill, and 1 oxycodone pill, none of which Greb has a prescription for.

Greb was barred from driving because of a previous OWI test failure.

Controlled-substance violation is a Class-D felony.
