Coralville man reportedly found with 10 ounces of pot in car

Authorities have accused a Coralville man of possessing 10.1 ounces of marijuana in his car.

Robert Dixon, 27, was charged Jan. 31 with failure to affix drug stamp, controlled-substance violation, keeping a vehicle for controlled substances, and driving while barred.

According to the arrest affidavit, Dixon was pulled over for having obstructed license plates. Officers recognized Dixon and had a K9 unit perform a search of the car, during which the K9 alerted its handler to the presence of drugs.

A probable cause search yielded the discovery of 10.1 ounces of un-stamped marijuana in a backpack and more than $3,000 worth of cash.

Failure to affix drug stamp and controlled-substance violation are Class-D felonies.
