Iowa City police sent out a press release on Tuesday with a report of a suspicious male in the area of Rochester Avenue and Boyd Court.

According to the release, the man, who was driving a maroon car, had an inappropriate verbal interaction with a child, asking the child if he/she had ever “seen a man’s genitals.” The incident occurred on Sept. 24 around 3 p.m. The release added there was no physical contact and the child left the area immediately.

The release said the suspect was a white male driving a maroon sedan. An investigator has been assigned to the case. If anyone has any information to help identify the suspect, contact the Iowa City police at 319-356-5276.
