Iowa City man accused of stealing farm equipment

An Iowa City man has been accused of stealing farming equipment from MidAmerican Energy. 

Andrew Pearson, 36, address unknown, was charged March 5 with second-degree theft and interference with official acts. 

According to the arrest affidavit, police were called to MidAmerican when Pearson was seen on cameras within the property and was spotted on nearby train tracks. Pearson admitted to stealing copper and a crimper, which was worth $2,500. 

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
