An Iowa City man has been accused of intimidation with a serious weapon.

Charles Tate, 26, was charged on Feb. 14 with intimidation with a serious weapon.

According to the arrest affidavit, Tate pulled a black firearm on another driver during a road rage incident on Kirkwood Avenue. Tate had cut the victims off and caused them to hit the curb and stop in the middle of the road, blocking their path. Tate began threatening the victims while he had them stopped, the affidavit said.

The victims were able to reverse and continue down the road but were stopped at a red light with Tate. Tate then began to wave the firearm at the victims, the affidavit said.

Intimidation with a serious weapon is a Class D felony.
