Erhan Karina, 36, was charged Feb. 22 with second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.

According to the arrest affidavit, Karina allegedly asked a person for $600 to pay for a car problem. When he was denied the money, Karina allegedly continued to request the money.

The person ultimately gave Karina $1,100 with the promise that Karina would pay it back, though he never did.

Karina allegedly later admitted that he does not own a vehicle and that he used the money to buy narcotics.
