Football reporters Danny Payne and Charlie Green offer their predictions for Iowa’s game with No. 19 Wisconsin Saturday.

Danny Payne, Pregame Editor

I picked Iowa in this one, but that was before I knew Tevaun Smith, Boone Myers, and Derrick Mitchell, Jr. were injured. I’m not going back on my pick, but I’m much less confident now. Prediction: Iowa 24, Wisconsin 21, with a defensive touchdown for Iowa.

Pick to Click: Drew Ott. It’s been a few weeks since the defensive end hurt his elbow. I’m thinking he’s healthy enough to play well today.

Charlie Green, football reporter

The Hawkeyes frustrate Wisconsin’s run game, and force Joel Stave to beat them with his arm. On the other side, C.J. Beathard makes just enough plays to pull the Hawkeyes through their Big Ten opener. Prediction: Iowa 23, Wisconsin 20

Pick to Click: George Kittle. Without Smith on the outside, Beathard’s best options might be over the middle of the field. Kittle’s big-play ability could allow him to attack the seams against a strong Badger back end.
