Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley has been named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year watch list. The award honors the most outstanding player in college football.

Stanley ranked second in the Big Ten with 26 passing touchdowns last season and added 2,852 yards. His 52 career touchdown passes rank fourth in Iowa history and are the most by a Hawkeye quarterback in a two-year span.

Stanley has also earned preseason recognition, getting added to the Davey O’Brien Award watch list and Maxwell Award watch list this summer.

Former Iowa quarterback Brad Banks was a finalist for the Camp Player of the Year in 2002, and former Hawkeye cornerback Desmond King reached the same stage in 2015.

Ten semifinalists will be announced in November, and the winner will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 12.
