Printy headed to USA Basketball trials

Iowa sophomore guard Jaime Printy will be one of 35 players attending the 2011 USA Basketball Women’s World University Games Team Trials. The trials are set for May 22-25 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The 12-player squad will be selected after the trials, and will play in the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China, Aug. 14-21.

Printy was named an honorable mention All-American by the AP and second team All-Big Ten.

A native of Marion, the 5-11 Printy was the first player in Iowa women’s basketball history to reach the career 1,000-point mark as a sophomore.

"I am extremely honored to accept an invitation to the team trials," she said in a release. "This will be an incredible experience to compete against the best players in the country."
