Even though Kevin Lewis did not get a top-five finish in the 3,000-meter at the Washington Invitational on Jan. 31, the senior runner will get his name written down in Hawkeye history.
He finished seventh with a time of 7:57.06 and broke the five-year-old school record in the men’s indoor 3,000-meter.
Ben Witt also competed in the 3,000, turning in a time of 8:20.12. He finished seventh in the second section of the race.
Lewis and Witt were the only Hawkeye invited to the invitational.
