Hawkeye women move up

The Iowa women’s basketball team is the No. 23 team in the country following three-straight wins in the Big Ten.

Since dropping its first two conference games to Indiana and Penn State, Lisa Bluder and Company have been arguably the hottest team in the conference, going 11-3 in their last 14 Big Ten games, including avenging losses to both the Hoosiers and Nittany Lions.

The Hawkeyes finished their regular season with a 23-7 record, 11-5 in conference play.

Iowa will return to action Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament, with the Hawks set to take on 9-20 Illinois, a team that Black and Gold defeated by 25 points this past Sunday.

The Hawkeyes are one of five Big Ten teams that are ranked: No.11 Penn State, No. 16 Nebraska, No. 17 Purdue, and No. 19 Michigan State.
