The Iowa baseball team competed a weekend sweep at the Stetson Invitational in Deland, Fla.
The win improves Iowa’s overall record to 9-1, the program’s best start since 1940.
“The guys showed some toughness on Sunday, playing a good team in Furman,” head coach Rick Heller said in a release. “Defensively, we were outstanding, had an errorless game and allowed very few bases-on-balls again, very few free bases all weekend. When you do that, you give yourself a chance to win games.”
The Hawks will travel to Manhattan to take on Kansas State Friday through March 9.
