Sindlinger qualifies for PGA Junior Championship

Iowa women’s golf freshman Jessie Sindlinger recently qualified for the 38th PGA Junior Championship, which will take place at the Trump National Golf Course in Washington, D.C., from July 30 through Aug. 2.

Sindlinger qualified for the event by finishing first in the section championship at Ames Golf and Country Club. In 36 holes, she posted a total score of 147, with individual round scores of 72 and 75.

This is the second-consecutive year that Sindlinger has qualified for the PGA Junior Championship.

“This is a great opportunity for Jessie to play in the PGA Junior Championship,” said Iowa women’s golf head coach Megan Menzel in a release. “She has had a solid summer, and this will be a great way for her to finish out her summer before coming in August.”
