The Iowa baseball team will once again hit the road; this time, the Hawkeyes will travel to Little Rock, Ark., to compete against Arkansas-Little Rock, Western Illinois, and Wichita State.

Iowa head coach Jack Dahm enters the weekend one victory shy of 500 career wins.

The first game of the series will be today against the host team, Arkansas-Little Rock (5-2). The Trojans are on a current three-game winning streak, and they are led by John Clarke and Bryson Thionnet.

Clark has a .409 battling average, and Thionnet boasts 2 home runs and 14 RBIs.

The Hawkeyes will play two games the following the day, first against Western Illinois and then Arkansas-Little Rock for a second time. The Leatherbacks are 2-4 and are coming off a 14-6 loss to Arkansas State.

To end the series, the Black and Gold will compete against Wichita State (1-3). The Shockers haven’t made it back to the diamond since their Feb. 19 victory over Oral Roberts. Since then, five games have been canceled because of inclement weather.

Iowa has yet to defeat Wichita State in the squads’ 10 meetings.

The pitching lineup for the weekend for Iowa will be sophomore Sasha Kuebel, senior Matt Dermody, freshman Calvin Mathews, and freshman Josh Martsching.

Last weekend, Iowa took two of three in the Kleberg College Classic. The squad defeated Corpus Christi, 4-2, and New Mexico, 6-2, but fell to No. 14 Oklahoma, 3-1.
