Man arrested for threats after bin Laden death

A man was arrested Tuesday in Middle Amana after he allegedly told cowokers he intended to “blow up Amana” because “his friend and brother Osama bin Laden was killed,” according to an Iowa County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Iowa County deputies and police officers from Williamsburg and Marengo arrested Boubker Lamkadi at the Amana Refrigeration Appliances factory and charged him with making a threat of terrorism, a Class D felony.

Lamkadmi told officers he was only kidding and misunderstood, the press release said.

An investigation into the incident indicated he never possessed any weapons or explosive devices.
