The Iowa softball team will travel to Fullerton, Calif., to compete in the DeMarini Invitational this weekend.
The Hawkeyes are 7-5, and they have won six of their last seven games, losing only to Southern Illinois last weekend.
Iowa will begin the tournament against Stanford at 1:15 p.m. today and will then face Cal State Fullerton at 8 p.m. today. On Saturday, Iowa will play Indiana University of Purdue University-Fort Wayne at 9 a.m. and California at 1:15 p.m. The Hawkeyes will finish out the road trip by playing Murrary State at 9 a.m. March 6.
Stanford, ranked No. 14 going into the DeMarini Invitational, has a record of 12-3 with six batters hitting above .300.
Iowa will play another ranked team when it faces No. 10 California. The Golden Bears have a 9-1 record, and they are on a seven-game winning-steak. Six players from California also have batting averages above .300.
