Stewart signs pro contract in Australia

Former Iowa women’s basketball forward Hannah Stewart will continue her playing career in Australia after signing a contract with the Lakeside Lightning.

The Lightning, based in North Lake, Western Australia, won the Women’s State Basketball League title in 2018, finishing with a record of 21-1.

Stewart finished third on the Hawkeyes in scoring last season, dropping 11.1 points per game, while she ended second in rebounding (6.7) and field-goal percentage (56.1).

She was an All-Big Ten Tournament team selection after Iowa won the tournament.

Stewart produced consistently in her last season in Iowa City, scoring double figures in 23 games and grabbing at least 6 rebounds in 24 contests.
