Heavy rain and flooding in the Dallas area has lead the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate tournament to be canceled.

The tournament will not be rescheduled, leaving the Hawkeye men’s golf team to finish the first half of the season with four tournaments.

Iowa has played this year at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis (tied for ninth), the GolfWeek Conference Challenge in Burlington (first), David Toms Intercollegiate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (fourth), and at the U.S. Collegiate Championship (17th) in Atlanta.

Junior Raymond Knoll tied for first at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge, the Hawkeyes’ highest-placed individual this season. Fellow junior Carson Schaake also enjoyed a solid first half of the season, with his best finish being fourth at the David Toms.

The GolfWeek Conference Challenge was also head coach Tyler Stith’s first college win as a coach. Stith, who had been both a player and assistant coach at Iowa, was named the coach prior to the 2014-15 season.

The Hawkeyes are now done with competition until 2016 and will spend the winter working on their game.

Iowa will resume its season when it heads to Palm Coast, Florida, for Big Ten Match Play on Feb. 12 and 13.
