Two men charged with breaking into a residence

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man and a North Liberty man of breaking into a residence.

Jovan Trice, 18, and Cordarro Pearson, 18, were charged with third-degree burglary on March 2.

According to online court documents, Trice and Pearson forced entry into an apartment, then left that apartment to enter another apartment.

The landlord went into that apartment and reportedly saw Trice and Pearson hiding in a room. The landlord told them to stay as she called the police, but they both fled the scene before the police arrived.

Trice had received a tattoo from the resident in one of the apartments, and he was identified by police because of the tattoo.

The resident of the first apartment seven reported $850 worth of missing property.

Third-degree burglary is a Class-D felony.
