For the second time in the past two seasons, the Iowa field-hockey team failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
The 11-7 Hawks (4-5) had hoped to secure an at-large bid, but their first-round loss in the Big Ten Tournament to Northwestern ended any hopes the team had for earning an NCAA appearance.
Northwestern (16-6, 6-2), Maryland (18-3, 7-1), and Penn State (15-1, 5-3) are the only Big Ten schools that will make an appearance this season.
