Alice’s Wonderland adventures

Travel down the rabbit hole, in Iowa City that is. This weekend, Nolte Academy will bring the magic of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland to the Midwest, featuring an updated spin on Alice’s Wonderland adventures.

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with additional performances at 2 p.m. Saturday and Jan. 26. The event will take place at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, 1301 Fifth St. Tickets can be bought online or in person, $12 for children, $16 for students, and $22 for general public.

The cast features kids and teens as well as college students in the 80-person cast, including Equity actor Jeff Haffner. Nolte Academy is a regular user of the Center for the Performing Arts, giving children and teens the opportunity to perform on stage.

Along with updated dialogue and arrangements, the play will feature the classic Disney tunes “I’m Late,” “The Un-birthday Song,” and “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.”
