Coralville man charged after breaking into residence

A Coralville man has been accused of breaking into a residence.

Kurtis Gibson, 25, was charged Oct. 17 with third-degree burglary.

According to a Coralville police complaint, neighbors called police after they heard glass breaking. Witnesses saw someone walking around and turning on lights inside the residence.

The home is currently for sale and no one lives there. When officers entered, Gibson was nearing the kitchen. He said he was looking for a place to sleep.

The east bedroom window had been broken.

Third-degree burglary is a Class-D felony.
