A local man has been charged after he allegedly knocked a female to the ground unconscious.
Javier Garcia, 30, was charged Tuesday with assault causing bodily injury after he reportedly admitted to police that he body slammed his sister to the ground. Garcia told officers she wouldn’t leave his apartment.
According to an Iowa City police complaint, the victim sustained a laceration on the back of her head.
Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor.
