A local woman was accused of telling her 4-year old son to beat up another child.

Catherine Claybon, 25, was charged April 5 with assault causing bodily injury.

Iowa City police officials responded to a report of a fight between two 4-year olds. Claybon stated that another 4-year old pushed her son off his scooter and allegedly encouraged her son to beat up that child.

A 9-year old boy tried to break up the fight, but Claybon pushed him down.

Claybon admitted to blocking the 9-year-old from her child when asked about pushing the child.

The 9-year old victim vomited after the alleged assault and was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor.
