Man charged with intent to obtain marijuana

A local man faces a drug charge after a traffic stop.

Bradley Sherburne, 37, was charged Dec. 14, 2012, with solicitation to commit a felony.

Iowa City police officers conducted a traffic stop after locating a target in an ongoing assault/narcotics investigation named Philip Worton-Smith.

Worton-Smith was detained and was allegedly found in the possession of marijuana and currency that is police say consistent with the sale of drugs. Sherburne was a passenger with Worton-Smith.

Sherburne allegedly told police officials that he had contacted Worton-Smith with the intent of obtaining marijuana and was in the process when he was detained.
