Today’s Obituaries

Randy L. Rotzinger, 55, of North Liberty died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.  A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Randy’s life will be held from 3-6 pm on Wednesday, August 1 at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue, Iowa City.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Randy Rotzinger Memorial Fund.

Randy was born on August 21, 1956 in Washington, IA, the son of Roy and Helen (Polton) Rotzinger.  In 1974, he graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf.  A short time after graduating, Randy went to work for International Harvester in East Moline until later moving to Iowa City where he worked for IAC for over 30 years.  On Valentines Day of 2006, Randy married Holly Randall in Las Vegas.

Randy was a “die hard” Ford fan and was known for his shiny and freshly waxed F150 pickup.  He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed all types of racing.  He also loved to boat and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Holly of North Liberty, his mother Helen Rotzinger of Bettendorf, a son David (Beanna)  Rotzinger and their children Robert James Manning II, Aidan Roy Rotzinger, Bryian Lee Rotzinger and David Raymond Rotzinger all of Kalona, a daughter April Randall (Justin DeWitt) and their son Kaden Parks DeWitt all of North Liberty, a son Adam (Vanessa) Clark and their children Nathaniel, Blake and Allyson Clark all of Iowa City, a sister Lori Baca of Bettendorf, and four nieces and nephews:  Tom (Sarah) Rotzinger of Great Lakes, IL, Jaye Rotzinger of Bettendorf, Julie (Jim) Vest of Wellman and Jerry (Sole) Suchomel of San Diego, CA; and two loving dogs Benji and Maxwell.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Roy, a sister Janice Suchomel and a niece Sandra Suchomel.
