Man reportedly steals car from Muscatine

A Columbus Junction man has been accused of stealing a car.

Gustavo Ramirez, 19, was charged Monday with first-degree theft and possession of stolen property.

According to a law-enforcement complaint, Ramirez was pulled over for speeding while driving a car with no license plates.

When an officer ran the vehicle-identification numbers through the Iowa Department of Transportation, the agency reported it was a stolen vehicle from Muscatine, the complaint said.

The car’s value was more than $30,000.

First-degree theft and possession of stolen property is a Class-C felony.
