Two men charged with possessing half a pound of marijuana

Two Iowa City residents were charged with possessing a half a pound bag of marijuana.

James Jordan, 18, 1100 Arthur St. Apt. 6, was charged Wednesday with possessing or distributing without a tax stamp and a controlled-substance violation.

Omar Bibbs, 24, address unknown, was charged Wednesday with possessing or distributing without a tax stamp and a controlled-substance violation.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, police officers executed a search warrant for 1100 Arthur St. Apt. 6. Jordan and Bibbs were the only subjects there and reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana that night.

During the search, police officials allegedly found half a pound bag of marijuana on the bathroom floor, packaging materials, cash, and other items for use in a sale.

A controlled-substance violation is a Class-D felony.

Possessing or distributing without a tax stamp is a Class-D felony.
