Regent President Craig Lang and Regent President Pro Tem Bruce Rastetter were re-elected to serve in their current positions at the state Board of Regents’ meeting Thursday.
They will begin their two-year terms May 1. Their current terms expire April 30.
According to Iowa Administrative Rules, the president pro tem shall serve as president if a vacancy occurs in the office of regent president until a new president is elected. An elected successor shall be elected by the regents if a vacancy occurs in the office of the president pro tem.
"I find this position very challenging," Lang said. "I want to thank the support of all the board members. We’ve had positive discussions, some disagreements … but I think this is a very strong board."
