Lúnasa comes to the Iowa City to get audiences in the Irish spirit in preparation for St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

The band will perform its famous Celtic songs at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Englert Theater, 221 E. Washington St. Admission is $22 reserved seating in advance, $25 reserved seating on the day of show.

Lúnasa was named after a traditional Celtic harvest festival that honors of the Irish god Lugh. Lugh is a patron of the arts, and Lúnasa consists of some of the top-notch musicians in all of Ireland.

Many of the members have been a part of some of the most popular Irish groups in the country.

Each member of the band has a key role, which is one of the reasons Folk Roots magazine described Lúnasa as an "Irish music dream team."

The band consists of bassist Trevor Hutchinson, guitarist Paul Meehan, fiddler Sean Smyth, flutist Kevin Crawford, and piper Cillian Vallely.

Lúnasa plays traditional Irish music while taking a different approach to original sounds.
