Iowa City community events and programs will receive less funding than usual in the next fiscal year.
The Iowa City City Council will spend $104,654 to fund community- and city-sponsored events in fiscal year 2013, a roughly $6,000 decrease from fiscal 2012.
The council initially received a request for $168,467 in funding.
