Iowa City City Council will consider a proposal for an ordinance amendment that would allow enforcement of red-light traffic laws automatically, according the agenda of the Nov. 22 meeting.
The amendment would call for photo enforcement of red-light violations.
The council discussed the use of red-light cameras earlier this year. The proposal met with mixed support.
The city staff will initiate contract negotiations with the photo enforcement vendor following a "Request for Proposal" process.
