Police: Man drew rifle, assaulted woman

A local man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly threatening two women.

Cheaster Snagg, 22, 1100 Arthur St. Apt. G1, was charged June 26 with first-degree harassment, domestic assault causing injury while displaying a weapon, assault while participating in a felony, possession of a firearm as a felon, first-degree burglary, and public intoxication.

According to police reports, Snagg, armed with a rifle, approached two females seated in a vehicle on Hollywood Boulevard and repeatedly punched one of them in the head several times, causing minor injuries.

Police said Snagg “compelled” the women to drive him to his residence, where one was able to flee and call 911.

When apprehended, reports said police found ammunition was located on his person. A search of his apartment yielded the second woman, as well as the rifle used in the incident, police said.

Snagg has two previous felony convictions.
