The No. 65 Iowa women’s tennis team lost, 4-3, to Missouri on Sunday in Columbia, Mo.. It was the fourth loss in a row for the Hawkeyes, dropping their overall season record to 2-6.
In the No. 1 singles spot, junior Sonja Molnar battled back to beat Kaitlyn Ritchie (1-6, 6-4, 6-6, 6-4). Senior Jessica Young fell to Mallory Weber (6-2, 6-2) in the No. 2 spot.
Senior Lynne Poggensee-Wei and Molnar helped pick up the doubles point for Iowa when the duo took down Mizzou’s Ritchie and Weber, 8-4. Young and freshman Christina Harazin paired up at the No. 2 spot, beating the Tigers’ Rachel Stuhlmann and Maria Christensen (8-7).
In the No. 5 spot, Harazin won her match against Jamie Mera (6-2, 6-4).
Iowa will host Nebraska at 2 p.m. March 13
