DIY Column: Pumpkin Pie Milkshakes

Ah, Thanksgiving. A time to indulge in over consumption, lethargy, and, oh yes, give thanks. Turkey and football are all good and fine, but let’s be real: I’m there for dessert. As you 20-somethings graduate from the kids’ table, chances are greater that Aunt Pam will hand you the daunting task of preparing a post-feast treat. Don’t fret — impressing your relatives this year is easy as pie — without risking a burnt crust. Enter Pumpkin Pie Milkshakes.

Put ice cream, pumpkin puree, milk, and pumpkin-pie spice into a blender. If your blender is on the small side, you might want to do half of the ingredients at a time to ensure your shakes are pumpkin perfect. Blend until your shakes are an even peach color. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream, crushed graham crackers, and pumpkin-pie spice.
