Police investigate reported hit-and-run

Iowa City police are looking for a driver they say hit a bicyclist and left the scene.

According to police reports, authorities responded to the intersection of Jefferson and Johnson Streets around 2 p.m. after a bicyclist was reportedly struck by a vehicle. The injured cyclist described the car as a newer silver, four-door, Pontiac Grand Am, authorities said.

The car was reportedly damaged on the passenger side, including a broken passenger side window.

The cyclist was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
