Slow start plagues lady golfers

The Iowa women’s golf team placed 12th at this weekends Indiana Invitational. The Hawkeyes were lead by sophomore Chelsea Harris, who finished tied for 29th place, and junior Laura Cilek, who finished tied for 34th.

Iowa improved through every round of the three-round tournament. After shooting 317 (plus 29) in the first round, head coach Kelly Crawford’s team bounced back to shoot a 300 in the final 18 holes.

Indiana nabbed the tournament crown after posting a third-round score of 291 (plus- 3).

The Hawkeyes are set to play their last regular-season tournament at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, beginning on Saturday.
