Woman arrested for alleged library DVD theft

Iowa City police have arrested a woman for allegedly failing to return 53 DVDs to the Iowa City Public Library.

Saira Denny-Cline, 23, 1100 Arthur St. Apt. 13, was charged with second-degree theft.

According to police, Denny-Cline checked out the items on Sept. 25 and did not return them on their Oct. 2 due date.

The total value of the DVDs is $1,360, police said.

Denny-Cline is being held in custody at the Johnson County Jail on a $7,500 cash-only bond.

Second-degree theft is a Class D felony and is generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $7500.
