Dodge ball sign-up to close

If you’re looking to bring out your inner Peter La Fleur, today is the last day to sign up for intramural dodge ball.

The format for the event is one night of two games, followed by a playoff-style tournament with the top two teams in each pool making the playoffs. Pools will have three teams to begin with.

Rules, though, may be atypical of the usual six-on-six style that is officially played by the National Amateur Dodge Ball Association.

Players will have three people per team, and one team will start with two balls, while the other team has one. Alternating who holds more dodge balls each game, the teams will play to 10 games to declare a winner.

There are no sex restrictions and only one league. Games can include teams of just men, just women, or be coed.

There is a $15 fee per team, and games will be held in the Field House racquetball courts.

Recreational Services officials said that while not many teams have signed up initially, there has typically been a much higher number of sign-ups later during the final week.
