Police probe reported home invasion

Iowa City police are investigating a home invasion that reportedly occurred late Wednesday night.

According to police, five black men, wearing black clothes and ski masks, forced their way into a Foster Road residence. Three of the five men displayed guns, according to police. Three people were present at the time of the break-in, and two were pepper-sprayed. One who was pepper-sprayed was also hit in the head and suffered a minor injury. Paramedics treated the injuries at the scene.

The men escaped with an undetermined amount of cash and electronics.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests.
