Hemeon, Cafone named All-Americans

After a 13-8 2013 field-hockey campaign, Iowa’s Natalie Cafone and Dani Hemeon were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s second- and third-team All-American squads Monday.

Cafone finished her sophomore campaign averaging 2.48 points per game, which led all Division I student-athletes in the nation. The Fairfield, N.J., native tallied 22 goals and 52 points, leadint the Hawkeyes in both categories.

Junior and cocaptain Hemeon finished with 13 goals and 30 points, second for Iowa in both.

Along with Cafone, the midfielder was named first team All-Big Ten, first team West Region All-American, and she garnered Big Ten Tournament Team honors.
