Iowa City patient at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics broke safety glass in fit of anger

An Iowa City patient at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been accused of breaking a safety glass in a fit of anger.

Kathleen Brown, 29, was charged Oct. 30 with second-degree criminal mischief.

According to a University of Iowa police complaint, Brown was in a locked unit when she broke the safety glass.

A doctor confirmed she was able to make decisions during this time.

Estimated cost of the damage is $1,430.

Second-degree criminal mischief is a Class-D felony.
