Iowa soccer preps for Purdue

Iowa soccer will host its final home regular-season game of the year on Saturday when it takes on Purdue at the Iowa Soccer Complex.

The Hawkeyes enter the match with a record of 12-5-1 overall, 4-5-1 in the Big Ten. Purdue has a record of 8-9-1, 3-7-0 in conference action.

Iowa is coming off a 3-1 loss last week to Ohio State on Senior Day for Iowa’s two seniors, Alex Melin and Ashley Catrell.

With a win, this year’s Iowa squad will tie for the most wins in the program’s history at 13. The odds are in the Hawkeyes favor as Iowa’s home record this season is 7-2-0.

Hawkeye Katie Nasenbenny was named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District team. The junior midfielder is now eligible to earn Academic All-America honors following the conclusion of the season.

Iowa’s match with Purdue is set to kick off at 1 p.m.
