The Iowa women’s track and field program finished the regular season on a low note.

The squad finished 11th out of 11 in this past weekend’s Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Hawkeyes managed to score 11 team points, 22 behind 2nd to last Indiana, and 104 points behind Illinois, who took home the women’s team title.

Sophomore Khanishah Williams was the women’s team’s highest placing athlete, taking third in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 9 ¾ inches, narrowly missing out on first place.

Junior Raven Moore took home 6th place in the 200 meter run. Moore recorded a time of 24.29.

The women’s 1600 meter relay team of Moore, MonTayla Holder, Adrianne Alexia and Kaitlyn Nelson ran a season best time of 3:43.80, good enough to rank 10th all time at Iowa, and 10th at the meet.

“Our placing this weekend does not reflect the potential of our program,” head coach Layne Anderson said in a release. “It starts with me as the head coach. I certainly expect more of myself, our staff, and the team. This is an unacceptable level of performance."
