Field Hockey’s Barnett, McGraw selected to NFHCA senior game

Iowa field-hockey captains Jessica Barnett and Kathleen McGraw have been selected to compete in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior Game following the regular season.

The Senior Game will be played on Nov. 17 on the campus of Old Dominion. The event will start at 2 p.m. and consists of a scrimmage against the U.S. Women’s National Team. The seniors will also get to play against each other in a series of four 25-minute sessions.

“Jess and [Kathleen] are very deserving of this recognition,” head coach Tracey Griesbaum said in a statement. “They have been steady leaders and performers in the Iowa field-hockey program for four years.”

McGraw and Barnett are among 38 athletes selected to play in the game, and they are the first Hawkeyes to be selected since 2009. Assistant coach Meghan Beamesderfer and former-Hawkeye Tricia Dean were selected to the Senior Game that year.
