An Iowa City woman has been accused of using an unauthorized credit card to make purchases.

Whiteny Clayborn, 22, 2446 Lakeside Drive No. 10, was charged June 7 with forgery.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, Clayborn allegedly used a credit card belonging to another person to make eight unauthorized purchases at three different Iowa City businesses totaling $749.01.

Clayborn signed another person’s signature for the purchases and was captured on video surveillance, the complaint said.

Forgery is a Class-D felony.
