UI student charged with selling drugs

UI police charged a Mayflower resident Dec. 1 with a controlled-substance violation and keeping a drug house after he allegedly sold Adderall to a female subject.

Timothy Rooney, 20, was charged after officers executed a search warrant at his residence, 834D Mayflower. During the search, officers allegedly located a prescription for Adderall belonging to Rooney and multiple Adderall capsules throughout the room, according to a complaint by UI police.

A female subject who was present was also allegedly found in possession of two Adderall capsules, which she reportedly said she purchased from Rooney for $5.

Officers allegedly located marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia during the search. The complaint said follow-up interviews and investigation determined that Rooney allegedly stored and used marijuana in his residence on a weekly basis.

Rooney was charged with a Class-C felony controlled-substance violation for possession of Adderall with intent to deliver. He is also charged with keeping a drug house.
