Printy named frosh All-American

Iowa women’s basketball guard Jaime Printy has been named to the second team Freshman All-American by Full Court Press. She was just one of 15 freshman players chosen in the country.

The native of Marion averaged 14.7 points and four rebounds per game and led Iowa with a 88.3 free-throw percentage and a 38.7 3-point percentage.

In Printy’s first year as a Hawkeye, she earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year and second team All-Big Ten accolades. She was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Week four times during the season and broke three freshman records in scoring, assists, and 3-pointers.

Printy is the fifth player in school history to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She finished second in free-throw percentage, third in 3-pointers made, and eighth in the Big Ten in scoring.

The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 20-14 record and made it to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament.
